Slow dough.Fast fire.

A wood-fired pizza parlor on Donnelly Street in downtown Mount Dora. Build a pie, spin the jukebox, stay a while.

Inside Mossfire: Tiffany lamps glowing over orange vinyl booths, a blistered pizza on a stand, and the brick oven burning in the back. The window booth at dusk under a Tiffany lamp, garlic knots in a basket, and Spanish moss hanging over the lake outside. A Datil Honey pizza from above on a gold formica table: cupped pepperoni, datil pepper rings, basil, and hot honey.

Half our toppings grow within an hour of here.

The tomatoes come from Italy. A lot of the rest comes from up the road.

★★★★★
The crust has those little charred spots and it still folds. Best pizza since I moved down from Jersey.

We ordered ahead and it was ready when we walked in. The kids split a margherita. We fought over the Datil Honey.

Tuesday night in the window booth with the lake right there. Felt like a vacation twenty minutes from home.

Good to know

Still wondering about something? Call us at (352) 555-0147.

How long is the wait on a Friday night?
Walk-ins usually wait 20 to 40 minutes after 6pm. Save a booth below to skip it, or order pickup. Pickup pies are ready in about 15 minutes.
Does wood-fired pizza travel well?
Best within 15 minutes. We use vented boxes so steam escapes and the crust stays crisp. Reheating at home? Dry skillet, medium heat, lid on, three minutes.
Do you have gluten-free or vegan options?
Any pie on gluten-free crust for $3 more, and vegan mozzarella on request. The gluten-free crust bakes on its own tray, but it shares the oven with regular dough, so we can't promise it is safe for celiac.
Is it a good spot for kids?
Yes. Kids get a 10-inch cheese or margherita for $8, they can watch the oven from the counter stools, and the jukebox keeps them busy.
Where do I park?
Free street parking on Donnelly and Fifth Avenue, plus a free city lot one block east.
Can you fit a big group?
Up to 24 people between the booths and the patio. Save a table, pick 9 or more for party size, and we'll call to plan the pies.
