Bay Hill

Fairway Nine: a low stone and glass house with a travertine pool terrace overlooking a misty golf fairway and pond.

Golf country southwest of the city: houses along fairways and ponds, ten minutes from the restaurants on Sand Lake Road.

It suits
Golfers, of course, and anyone who wants a long green view without the upkeep of acreage.

The course

The club here hosts a well-known professional tournament every March. The rest of the year the course belongs to its members and their neighbors, and many houses back straight onto a fairway.

The houses

Mostly one and two story houses from the 1970s onward, a good number rebuilt in recent years, on lots that look across the course and its ponds.

Daily life

Early tee times, evening walks along the cart paths once play ends, and an easy drive to dinner on Sand Lake Road.
